Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Dental Nurse specialising in Paediatric Dentistry to join our specialised dental practice. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during paediatric dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining strict hygiene standards
- Support young patients through gentle reassurance, explaining procedures in age-appropriate language
- Monitor patient vital signs when required and observe for any adverse reactions during treatments
- Manage patient records accurately, including updating treatment notes and scheduling follow-up appointments
- Provide pre- and post-treatment instructions to parents or guardians, ensuring understanding of care routines
- Maintain sterilisation protocols for all equipment and ensure the treatment environment remains clean and organised
- Support administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, liaising with patients’ families, and managing correspondence as needed
Requirements
- recognised qualification as a Dental Nurse with registration with the General Dental Council (GDC)
- Proven experience working within paediatric dentistry or a similar specialised setting is desirable
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards children and their families
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of explaining procedures clearly and reassuringly
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- Proficiency in IT systems relevant to dental practice management
- Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating professionalism and adaptability at all times
- Knowledge of current health and safety regulations related to dental practices
