Satys Sealing & Painting UK, a subsidiary of the Satys Group, works in partnership with Airbus UK at the Broughton site. We are currently recruiting for a Mechanic to join our on-site team. This role is essential for undertaking the preparation and lifting of aircraft wings for the painting process to ensure safe working environment. This role will be reporting to the Team Leader on shift.
The Role
This role would suit a proactive and adaptable individual who can support the Production department across a wide range of activities. The primary responsibility is the safe and efficient operation of overhead cranes, alongside undertaking additional production tasks to help maintain workflow and achieve operational targets.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a methodical approach, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. They will ensure that products are handled and delivered in accordance with customer requirements, company standards, and all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations. The ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining high levels of safety, accuracy, and productivity is essential.
Main duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
The below are to include not limited to :
Operate overhead gantry crane to lift/move/lower wings.
Operate manipulator to lift/lower wings.
Perform detailed incoming inspection on wings.
Tool/De-tool wings at beginning/end of manipulation.
Fit closing plates to painted wings prior to delivery.
Support Team Leader co-ordinate wing moves into and out factory.
Always respect and ensure compliance with the organisation’s QSE instructions.
Assist with fault finding when issues occur with the crane or manipulator.
Operating forklift, electric tow tractor & portable MEWP.
Supporting Production activities on an Ad-hoc basis.
Experience
3 years minimum as an crane operator (desirable)
