Mobile HGV Technician
Location: Bedford and Surrounding Areas
Salary: £50,000 per annum + Company Van & Fuel Card
Hours: Straight Day Shift + Overtime & Callouts Available
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Mobile HGV Technician to cover Bedford and surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician looking for a stable day shift role with excellent earning potential through plentiful overtime and callouts.
You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a range of HGVs at customer sites and roadside locations, ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, and back on the road as quickly as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections on HGVs
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
- Perform roadside breakdown assistance and emergency repairs
- Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and efficiently
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with DVSA standards
- Provide excellent customer service at all times
- Participate in callout rota (additional pay provided)
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently in a mobile role
- Good communication and customer service skills
