Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating flatbed lorries to deliver goods across various locations. Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly
- Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring securement of cargo during transit
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel efficiency
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Maintain a professional demeanour when interacting with clients and customers during deliveries
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines at all times during operations
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles and delivery operations
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for cargo securement
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards clients and colleagues
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
