Scope Of The Role:
The Filling Machine Operative has responsibility and accountability for the set up, configuration and operation of one of our many filling machines. They are required to maintain the required output in line with the agreed production schedule, whilst ensuring strict compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety Policies and Quality / Food Safety processes.
The hourly rate for this role is £17.54, with a 12% premium during certain shift patterns to bring your hourly rate to £19.65. This is equivalent to an annual salary of £42,915.60.
The Filling Machine Operative will work 42 hours per week on average in line with assigned shift patterns. Each shift will be 12-hours, with a shift pattern of 2 weeks of day shifts and 2 weeks of night shifts.
The interview will consist of a numeracy and literacy test, followed by a discussion with our Shift Supervisor and Filling Team Leader to discuss competencies against the role's job description
What You'll Do:
- Operate the factory filling machinery safely and in line with company processes to ensure the effective and consistent manufacturing of our product, maximising efficiency and minimising waste wherever possible.
- Strict adherence to Environmental, Health and Safety policies and safe operating procedures, whilst promoting a health and safety culture to safeguard all employees.
- Strict adherence to Technical and Quality policies, proactively contributing to the business’ food safety and quality culture, whilst continually maintaining high product quality and GMP standards.
- Maintain a high standard of machine cleanliness to ensure no possibility of foreign body contamination.
- Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring strict compliance to traceability and CCP compliance
- Maintain machine critical settings as specified in relevant standard operating procedures to ensure filler machine performs at optimum level with product meeting required quality specification. Each shift working to achieve filler efficiency of 65% or more.
- Lead all required changeover tasks, ensuring ‘First Time Pass’ is achieved on every occasion.
- Deliver training as required to new starters in like roles with strict reference to provided training materials.
- Carry out root cause analysis and troubleshoot as appropriate with reference to prescribed training materials. Escalate to support functions where required.
- Fully participate in the ongoing filling operator performance review process with line manager
- Report any filler or line issues that could affect production to the line manager and raise all issues at huddles
- Any other duties as required.
Required Professional Experience:
- 1 year manufacturing experience in a similar role.
- Excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Flexibility and willingness to train as required.
- Understanding of EHS and Quality principles within manufacturing.
