At Randall Care & Support, we are looking for experienced, compassionate and resilient Support Workers to join our 3SS Learning Disability Unit supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs within a small, person-centred supported accommodation setting.This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference in people’s lives and understands the importance of dignity, consistency, safeguarding and therapeutic support.
Our services provide 24-hour accommodation-based support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and additional complex presentations. Experience supporting individuals with profound and complex disabilities, emotional regulation difficulties, ASD, challenging behaviour.We pride ourselves on creating safe, structured and nurturing environments where clients feel respected, valued and supported to live as independently as possible.
About the Role
You will work as part of a small team supporting up to 6 residents within a supported accommodation. This is a hands-on role requiring emotional resilience, initiative, professionalism and excellent communication skills.You must be confident in both team working and lone working situations and able to respond calmly and appropriately to changing situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clients with daily living activities, personal wellbeing and independence skills
- Implement person-centred care and support plans
- Provide emotional support, reassurance and positive engagement
- Support medication compliance and administer medication safely where required
- Maintain accurate daily records, incident reports and handovers
- Observe and report changes in behaviour, presentation or wellbeing
- Work in accordance with safeguarding procedures, Mental Capacity Act and DoLS principles
- Promote a safe, clean and respectful living environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, management and external professionals
- Support clients with appointments, routines and community engagement where appropriate
Essential Requirements
We are looking for experienced and well-rounded support workers who have:
- Previous experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs.
- At least two years working with LD preferred.
- Good understanding of:
- Safeguarding
- DoLS
- Medication administration
- Professional boundaries
- Strong observational and reporting skills
- Excellent communication and handover skills
- Ability to remain calm, professional and emotionally resilient under pressure
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or above)
- Care Certificate
- Up-to-date mandatory training
- Oliver McGowan Tier 1 and 2
Shift Patterns Day Shift between 07:00am – 9:00pm
Night Shift 9pm – 7.30am You must have previous experience working waking night shifts.
Additional Requirements
- DBS on the Update Service is desirable
- Two recent professional references required
- Proof of address and right to work documentation required
