Role Overview
The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of commercial and utility-scale solar PV projects from initial contract award through to commissioning and handover. Working closely with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, site managers, subcontractors, clients, and network operators, the Project Coordinator ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced renewable energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Support Project Managers in the planning and execution of multiple solar PV installation and development projects.
- Maintain project schedules, milestones, and deliverables using project management software.
- Coordinate project documentation, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Track project progress and highlight risks, delays, or resource constraints.
- Arrange project meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and follow up on actions.
- Assist with project reporting for internal stakeholders and clients.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key point of contact for clients during project delivery.
- Coordinate communication between clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Assist with planning permissions, DNO applications, grid connections, and utility coordination where required.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers and external stakeholders.
Procurement & Logistics
- Coordinate material orders with procurement and suppliers.
- Monitor delivery schedules to ensure materials arrive on site as planned.
- Track equipment availability and support inventory management.
- Assist in resolving supply chain issues that may impact project delivery.
Site Coordination
- Support mobilisation of installation teams.
- Coordinate subcontractor documentation, RAMS, insurance, and competency records.
- Ensure site documentation is complete before work commences.
- Liaise with Site Managers regarding progress, programme updates, and resource requirements.
Commercial Support
- Assist with purchase orders, invoices, and project cost tracking.
- Support budget monitoring and expenditure reporting.
- Maintain change control documentation and variation records.
- Assist with project close-out and final documentation.
Quality, Health & Safety
- Promote a positive health, safety, environmental, and quality culture.
- Ensure project documentation complies with company procedures.
- Support compliance with CDM Regulations, ISO management systems, and industry standards.
- Assist in coordinating inspections, commissioning documentation, and handover packs.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a Project Coordinator or Project Administrator role.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience using project management software (e.g. Microsoft Project, Monday.com, Asana, ClickUp, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable
- Experience within renewable energy, construction, electrical contracting, or utilities.
- Knowledge of solar PV installation processes.
- Familiarity with DNO applications, G99/G98 processes, or grid connection procedures.
- Understanding of CDM Regulations and construction project delivery.
- Experience working with ERP or procurement systems.
Qualifications
Essential:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable:
- HNC/HND or Degree in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
- PRINCE2 Foundation, APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ), or equivalent.
- SMSTS or SSSTS awareness (advantageous).

Pay: £25,500.00-£27,500.00 per year
