About the role
We're a fire safety company looking for an experienced Senior Fire and Security Engineer to join our team in a hands-on, supervisory capacity. This is a working role, you'll be out on the tools and on-site, while also helping to organise, oversee and drive quality across the team.
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with excellent organisation and communication. You don't need to arrive as a fully formed operations manager; a capable senior engineer who is well organised, communicates clearly, and wants to grow into a leadership position could be an ideal fit. There's a genuine path here to progress into an engineer/operations manager role over time.
What you'll be doing
- Carrying out installation, service, commissioning and maintenance of fire safety systems
- Assisting with and supervising fire and security installations
- Supporting CCTV, access control and intruder alarm works where you have suitable experience
- Attending call-outs and attending jobs independently or leading a team
- Checking that drawings, variations, commissioning records and handover documents are complete
- Completing worksheets, certificates, test records and photographs correctly
- Communicating professionally with clients and reporting problems early
- Helping to keep jobs, paperwork and the wider team organised and on track
Where this role can go
- Progressing towards an engineer/operations manager position
- Taking on greater responsibility for team coordination, quality and compliance
- Playing a key part in our BAFE processes and system design work
About you
- Proven experience as a fire (and ideally security) systems engineer
- Strong across some or all of: design, installation, service and commissioning
- Well organised, able to manage jobs, paperwork and priorities reliably
- A clear, professional communicator with clients and colleagues
- Comfortable working independently and leading others on-site
- Full driving licence
- Relevant industry qualifications an advantage; BAFE experience particularly welcome
What we offer
- A senior, hands-on role with real influence over how the team works
- A clear progression path towards operations management
- Ongoing training and BAFE-recognised development
- A supportive team environment
