Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activities Co-ordinator to enrich the lives of our residents through engaging and meaningful activities. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for senior care, with experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or care homes. As an Activities Co-ordinator, you will design, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of our residents, including those requiring dementia and Alzheimer's care. Your role is vital in promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being within our community.
Duties
- Plan and implement a wide range of engaging activities that cater to residents’ interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, music therapy, games, and outings.
- Assess individual resident needs and preferences to develop personalized activity plans that promote participation and enjoyment.
- Foster a warm and inclusive environment that encourages social interaction among residents, staff, and visitors.
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities support residents’ cognitive health, especially those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve activity programs.
- Coordinate transportation for community outings and special events to ensure safety and accessibility.
- Promote a positive atmosphere that enhances residents’ quality of life through creative engagement and companionship.
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior care environments such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or care homes.
- Strong understanding of dementia care and Alzheimer’s disease to tailor activities appropriately.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to design inclusive programs that accommodate varying levels of mobility and cognitive function.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in enhancing the well-being of older adults.
- Knowledge of caregiving principles related to elderly populations is highly desirable.
