Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager for Children’s Services to oversee and support the delivery of high-quality care within our care home environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing staff, ensuring compliance with care standards, and promoting the wellbeing of children in our care. Duties
- Assist the Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the children’s care service, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Supervise and support care staff, fostering a positive team environment that promotes professional development and high standards of care.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of personalised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to children’s services.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, implementing improvements where necessary.
- Support staff with medication administration and ensure accurate record-keeping in line with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise effectively with families, external agencies, and professionals involved in the children’s care.
- Promote a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols and safeguarding policies.
- Assist in organising training sessions for staff on topics such as dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, assisted living, and home care practices where applicable.
Requirements
- Proven experience working within children’s services or similar settings such as nursing homes or assisted living environments specialising in senior or dementia care.
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or management experience within a care home or similar setting.
- Knowledge of care plans development and medication administration procedures.
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and general senior or home care practices is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Compassionate approach combined with strong communication skills to support children, families, and team members.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care or equivalent; additional training in safeguarding or child protection is advantageous. Pay: £33,500.00-£39,750.00 per year
