Sales Assistant – Part Time | Brecon

Ideally, we're looking for someone based in Brecon or the immediate surrounding area who can reliably commute to the store for their scheduled shifts.
Your regular shifts
Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Monday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
Overtime is regularly available for those who want additional hours.

Alongside your basic pay, you'll be part of our monthly sales performance bonus scheme, with the Brecon team able to earn a shared bonus pot of approximately £300–£550+ per month when sales targets are achieved and exceeded.

The role
The Vape Escape is a growing independent vaping retailer, and we're looking for a confident and motivated Sales Assistant to join our Brecon store.
You'll be much more than someone standing behind a till.
You'll get to know our customers, understand what they're looking for and confidently recommend the right products. Whether that's helping an existing vaper find their next device or supporting someone looking to move away from cigarettes, you'll provide knowledgeable, friendly advice while spotting opportunities to increase sales.
We're a performance-driven business, so you'll have clear sales targets and KPIs to work towards — but you'll also have the opportunity to directly influence your bonus through the results you and your team deliver.
What you'll be doing
- Delivering friendly, confident and knowledgeable customer service
- Building rapport with customers and understanding their needs
- Recommending the right products and explaining them clearly
- Upselling and cross-selling where appropriate
- Working towards store sales targets and KPIs
- Helping the Brecon store maximise sales and deliver strong results
- Developing excellent knowledge of our devices, liquids and wider product range
- Maintaining high standards of merchandising and store presentation
- Managing stock and identifying potential availability issues
- Supporting customers who are looking to transition away from smoking
- Working closely with your Store and Area Management team
Who we're looking for
You don't necessarily need years of vaping experience. We're more interested in finding someone with the right personality, attitude and ability to sell. Full product training can be provided.
You'll ideally be:
- Confident and comfortable starting conversations with customers
- Naturally personable with strong communication skills
- Commercially minded and motivated by targets
- Comfortable recommending, upselling and closing sales
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Competitive and motivated by earning additional bonus
- Keen to learn and develop strong product knowledge
- Positive, professional and willing to take ownership of your performance
Previous experience in retail, sales, hospitality, customer service, mobile phones, technology or another target-driven environment would be a great fit.
