Patacake Nursery in Cambridge.
Patacake Nursery is a warm, welcoming early years setting in Cambridge, dedicated to providing high-quality care and education in a nurturing environment. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to lead our team and continue to develop outstanding practice across the setting.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, and compliance. You will lead and inspire the team, build strong relationships with families, and create a positive, inclusive environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and support the nursery team to deliver outstanding early years practice
- Ensure full compliance with EYFS, Ofsted, safeguarding, and health and safety requirements
- Oversee staffing, including recruitment, training, supervision, and appraisals
- Manage nursery occupancy, budgets, and administrative processes effectively
- Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external professionals
- Promote a safe, stimulating, and caring learning environment for all children
Requirements
- A relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above (Level 5/6 desirable)
- Previous experience in a nursery management or deputy management role
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- A genuine passion for early years education and child development
