We are looking to recruit a learning support assistant/teaching assistant to join a specialist class. This position is starting September.
The school caters for children and young people who have a wide range of ability, including a class of learners with autistic spectrum condition. All pupils are provided with an exciting, balanced education which will be appropriately paced and designed to meet their individual education needs. The children have behavioural and regulation needs and so someone who is skilled at managing behaviour/regulation would be ideal for this role.
The role:
- Supervise pupils with SEND, ensuring their safety and ability to access learning activities and understand the information presented
- Aid the execution of education plans suitable to each pupils’ learning objectives.
- Build a trusting relationship with all pupils and communicate according to their understanding.
- Promote class interaction and ensure pupils engage throughout the lessons.
- Create an interesting environment for students.
- Assist pupils with practical activities using a variety of teaching aids.
- Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare.

This is a long-term, full-time position so we are looking for candidates to be available 5 days a week between the hours of 8:30am-4pm FOR 36 WEEK PER YEAR in line with school holidays . Please only apply if you can accommodate this.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay.
