Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles, primarily flatbed lorries, to deliver goods efficiently and on time. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in accordance with all legal and company regulations.
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries across designated areas.
- Secure loads properly on flatbeds to prevent movement during transit.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, including delivery notes and logs.
- Adhere to all road safety laws and company policies during driving operations.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving and delivery operations, preferably with flatbed vehicles.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for large vehicle operation.
- Experience with delivery driver duties, including load securing and route planning.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple deliveries.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
