Job Title: Care Assistant
Hours: 12-hour shifts (1-hour unpaid break per shift)
Reports To: Senior Care Staff / Manager
Job Summary
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to residents in a care home setting. You will support individuals with their personal, physical, social, and emotional needs, promoting dignity, independence, and respect at all times. No prior experience is required—comprehensive training and opportunities to achieve NVQ qualifications will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to clients in accordance with individual care plans.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including:
- Dressing and undressing
- Washing, bathing, and personal hygiene
- Continence care
- Eating and drinking
- Bedtime and morning routines
- Other personal needs as required
- Promote and maintain each client’s independence and wellbeing.
- Demonstrate respect for privacy, dignity, and individual choice.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of individual care plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided.
- Support clients to participate in social activities and outings of their choice.
- Undertake keyworker responsibilities and attend keyworker meetings as required.
- Work collaboratively as part of a supportive care team.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, supervision, and professional development opportunities.
- Undertake any additional duties that contribute to the smooth and effective running of the care environment.
Requirements
- Experience in care is preferred but not essential—training will be provided.
- A compassionate, patient, and reliable nature.
- Good communication skills (spoken and written English).
- Basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK (we are not currently offering sponsorship).
