Bronze Age London is a Fine Art Foundry based in London. We specialise in producing high quality bronze sculptures for established artists and designers from all over the world. Bronze Age London are recruiting a Metal Technician/ Chaser to join our team. Previous experience would be an advantage however, someone with a good eye for details, form, stance and texture and a background in precision works would be considered.
This role requires you to assemble bronze components to create bronze sculptures ready for artist inspection. You will be working alongside the artist during the check to ensure the sculpture is in perfect condition in preparation for patination. A great candidate will continuously notify management of additional works requested by the client during the artist check. Experience in TIG welding, silversoldering, fabrication or sheet metalwork using various materials is desired. Knowledge of metalworking tools for chasing and polishing is ideal. As an experienced bronze technician, you will be expected to chase and fabricate company products to standards in specification, in full and on time.
A good candidate will be informing managers that sculptures are ready for artist checks. The role would include adhering to health and safety guidelines. You will need to correctly use PPE and will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organised working environment and will be required to contribute to department maintenance. All staff within the foundry team has a zone that they are to maintain. Experience
Candidates must have 2 years experience of TIG welding and metal working/chasing minimum.
