Weightlifter Bodies is one of the UK's longest-established commercial vehicle body and trailer manufacturers, specialising in tipping trailers, rigid bodies, repairs, refurbishments and structural fabrication solutions. The business provides repair and service support for aluminium and steel bulk trailers and rigid bodies across multiple manufacturers.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Bodybuilder / Commercial Vehicle Repair Technician to join our Service & Repairs team. Working from a fully equipped company service van, you will travel to customer sites carrying out inspections, repairs, maintenance and refurbishment work on commercial vehicle bodies, trailers and ancillary equipment.
This is a customer-facing role requiring strong fabrication skills, excellent problem-solving ability and a commitment to keeping customers' vehicles operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend customer sites to diagnose faults and assess repair requirements.
- Carry out structural repairs to commercial vehicle bodies, trailers and tipping equipment.
- Perform aluminium and steel welding, fabrication and body repairs.
- Repair floors, side panels, doors, hinges, tailgates and body structures.
- Complete trailer and rigid body refurbishment work.
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance checks.
- Repair or replace damaged components, including bodywork fittings and ancillary equipment.
- Complete job sheets, inspection reports and photographic records using digital systems.
- Maintain stock levels and cleanliness within the company service van.
- Ensure all work complies with company quality and health & safety standards.
- Build strong relationships with customers and represent the business professionally at all times.
- Participate in emergency breakdown and call-out support when required.
Skills & Experience
- Strong MIG welding and fabrication skills.
- Experience working with aluminium and steel structures.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and repair specifications.
- Good understanding of commercial vehicle body construction.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with tipping trailers or bulk haulage equipment.
- Hydraulic systems knowledge.
- Auto-electrical fault-finding experience.
- Commercial vehicle inspection qualifications.
- Forklift or mobile elevated work platform certification.

Pay: Up to £20.00 per hour
