Accounts Assistant
Chubb Bulleid are a leading and long-established law firm based in the heart of the Somerset countryside, with offices in Wells, Street, Taunton & Somerton.
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our Accounts Department. We are a friendly team that provides all the accounts support to the firm from our beautiful office in Wells.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, and you must be confident to be able to work without direct supervision from time to time. Ideally you will have knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and have experience of working in a law firm. You will be a self-motivated, proactive individual with meticulous attention to detail. And you will have excellent communication and IT skills, together with experience of working in a busy accounts department, with a high volume of transactional work.
Role Summary
To assist the Accounts Manager on a daily basis & take ownership of the following tasks:-
· Ensure all transactions are compliant with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
· Monitor the firms client account for incoming funds. Ensuring funds are allocated accurately & in a timely manner.
· Set-up and process BACS & CHAPS payments
· Daily bank reconciliations for the client & office accounts
· Checking completion statements
· Processing client completions
· Monitor the accounts department email account for all internal requests & queries.
· Process debit/credit card transactions over the phone/face to face
· Deal with invoices, posting, request invoices and transfer funds
· Land Registry posting to client ledger and balancing nominal ledger.,
· Process cheques received and raise as required
· Complete petty cash postings
· Daily banking
