Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and reliable cook to join our team at Little Berries Café, a brand-new play café designed for young children and their families.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, high-quality food in a fast-paced, family-friendly environment. You will play a key part in creating a menu that appeals to both children and adults, while maintaining excellent standards of hygiene, safety, and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of fresh meals, snacks, and light bites suitable for children and families
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and rotation of ingredients
- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations, including allergen awareness
- Work efficiently during busy periods, ensuring timely service
- Support menu development with creative, child-friendly and healthy options
- Assist with catering for birthday parties and special events
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Cook in a café, restaurant, or similar environment
- Experience preparing food for children or families is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
- Good organisational and time management skills
- A positive attitude and strong team player
- Creativity and enthusiasm for producing fresh dishes.
