Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV C+E Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be required to start at 02:00 Tuesday to Saturday, and will be trunking goods out of the Daventry area. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
Duties
- Operate a commercial vehicle in accordance with legal and company standards.
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks on the vehicle and report any issues promptly
- Plan and follow optimal delivery routes to ensure punctuality
- Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly during transit
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logbooks
- Maintain a professional demeanour when interacting with clients and colleagues
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times during operations
- Assist with the organisation of deliveries, including managing schedules and coordinating with warehouse staff
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver.
- Strong driving skills with a valid C+E licence recognised in the UK
- Knowledge of road regulations and safety standards for large vehicles
- Excellent organisational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading, unloading, and securing cargo safely
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Previous experience with delivery driver roles is highly desirable.
