Role: Hardware Field Technician
Salary:£28,000 - £38,000 DOE

Vet Vision AI is pioneering smarter, veterinary driven animal welfare through computer vision AI.
We are seeking a Hardware Field Technician to take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of our hardware infrastructure across customer sites. This hands-on role spans install scoping, configuration, installation, and ongoing maintenance.
You’ll work closely our internal hardware and commercial teams and at times our subcontractorsto ensure smooth on-site delivery, reliable system performance, and a strong feedback loop between the field and HQ. No two days are the same - you may be planning installs and configuring hardware one day then, installing or upgrading hardware in the field the next.
The ideal applicant will be within a commutable distance (approx. 30 miles) to our HQ in Belper. Regular travel throughout the UK will be required.
What You'll Be Doing:
Hardware Scoping:
- Create bespoke install plans based on our customers’ yard or farm layout.
- Ensure install plans are accurately recorded and can be easily followed by our subcontractors.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in inventory management including allocation, stock records, and dispatch to support deployments.
Hardware Installation and Maintenance:
- Carry out onsite system installations, following installation plans.
- Ensure systems are installed to a high standard.
- You will be required to perform work safely at heights, from ladders, cherry pickers, and other temporary work platformswithin busy dairy farms and equine yards.
- Carry out necessary configuration of hardware.
- Perform diagnostics, feeding this back to the relevant teams. Work with the Hardware Lead to deploy fixes or carry out upgrades.
- Visit sites to carry out on the ground diagnostics and system upgrades.
What We’re Looking For:
- A strong interest in hardware deployment, logistics and the desire to be part of a high-performance team.
- Passion for animal welfare, you care about the mission, not just the numbers.
- A self-starter mindset, comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on, practical experience with tools, electrical or construction workis ideal.
- Able to manage time independently, complete tasks efficiently and tackle challenges you may not have encountered before head-on.
- You take pride in your work to deliver the highest quality service to our customers.
- Willingness to Travel:
- Close to the office – Belper, Derbyshire. For collection of equipment etc.
- On weeks where installs are not being carried out, we require 1-2 days in the office.
- Planned and regular travel to customer sites within the UK. A full UK driving licence is essential.
Desirable:
- Experience working in the agriculturaland/or equestrian sectors would be highly advantageous.
Other:
- IPAF 3A and 3B(or equivalent)training will be provided as it is a necessary requirement for working at heights.
- Will need to pass BPSS clearance conducted by Secure Screening Limited, this is due to our work with the MoD.
