Dudley Zoo & Castle, a leading Black Country visitor attraction, is looking to recruit a Health & Safety Coordinator who will be responsible for Health and Safety at the zoo. The role is a 4 days per week and may include some weekend and bank holiday working.
Roles & responsibilities include:
· Ensure compliance with the Zoo Licensing Act
· Ensure we are compliant with all relevant HSE legislation
· Developing, promoting and implementing safe systems of work across the site
· Compiling, maintaining and updating risk assessments and health and safety policies
· Maintain all health and safety records such as Legionella and Asbestos reports
· Carrying out site audits
· Chairing internal health and safety meetings and educating and supporting staff to embed safe working practises into their daily roles
· Working collaboratively with managers, employees, contractors and external visitors to ensure best practise is followed
· Monitoring hot work and electrical permits as required
About You
We are looking for a motivated and confident professional who can bring both technical understanding and strong people skills to the role. You will need to be a strong communicator, a logical thinker, and someone who can influence positively across all levels of the organisation
Ideally you will have
· NEBOSH General Certificate
· Previous experience in a similarhealth & safety role
· Excellent communication skills
· Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks
This is a part time position of 4 days per week and ideally suited to someone looking to reduce their current working hours. A flexible work pattern may be available if required.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
