Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to lead and oversee daily operations within our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and working with children. This role offers an opportunity to create a nurturing environment that promotes learning, development, and well-being for young children. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for ensuring high standards of care, staff supervision, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursery team, providing guidance, support, and supervision to ensure effective daily operations
- Develop and implement programmes that promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children in line with early childhood education standards
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, performance appraisals, and professional development initiatives
- Maintain high standards of childcare practice whilst ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers through regular communication regarding children's progress and nursery activities
- Organise activities, outings, and events that enrich the children's learning experiences
- Manage administrative tasks including planning schedules, maintaining records, and ensuring the nursery's smooth operation
- Ensure the nursery environment remains safe, clean, organised, and stimulating for children at all times
Skills
- Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Extensive experience working directly with children; understanding of child development principles is essential
- Knowledge of early childhood education frameworks and best practices in childcare
- Excellent communication skills in English; able to liaise effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently

Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
