Job Summary
The Rope Access Project Supervisor is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of rope access projects from enquiry through to completion. Working closely with the Rope Access Manager and Sales Team, the role combines operational supervision, project coordination, client liaison, estimating support, and site surveying to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
The Rope Access Project Supervisor will undertake site visits to assess project requirements, gather technical information, assist in the preparation of quotations, coordinate personnel and resources, and ensure compliance with IRATA standards, health and safety legislation, and company procedures. The role also provides day-to-day support to project delivery, maintaining strong communication with clients, technicians, suppliers, and internal departments to achieve high standards of service and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Project Supervision
- Assist the Rope Access Manager with the planning, coordination, and supervision of rope access projects.
- Support the coordination of scheduling of rope access technicians based on qualifications, certifications, competency, availability and skillset.
- Support the supervision of operational activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), permits, and site packs.
- Monitor project progress and provide operational updates to the Rope Access Manager.
- Support the mobilisation and demobilisation of personnel, transport, accommodation, and equipment.
- Maintain project records and ensure documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action implementation.
- Assist in the day-to-day management of the Rope Access teams who are both employed and sub-contracted, ensuring the expectations of the business and the client are being met.
Sales & Estimating Support
- Assist the sales team with preparing quotations and pricing rope access works.
- Undertake site visits to assess project requirements, identify access challenges, gather measurements, photographs, and technical information required for accurate estimating.
- Liaise with clients to clarify project scope and operational requirements.
- Provide technical input to ensure quotations are safe, practical, competitive, and commercially viable.
- Assist in preparing scopes of work, cost estimates, and project schedules.
Compliance & Safety
- Maintain accurate records of IRATA certifications, medicals, training, PPE inspections, and competency records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, IRATA standards, and relevant health and safety legislation.
- Promote a positive safety culture and encourage best practice across all operations.
Equipment & Resource Management
- Coordinate equipment inspections, servicing, and inventory management.
- Assist with purchasing, tracking, and maintaining rope access equipment and consumables.
- Ensure equipment inspection records remain accurate and up to date.
Client & Administrative Support
- Assist with client liaison regarding scheduling, project mobilisation, documentation, quotations, and operational updates.
- Prepare reports, maintain operational databases, and provide administrative support to the Rope Access Manager.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Construction setting or on-site experience.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of project pricing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Experience within the rope access, construction, industrial services, or engineering sectors.
- Knowledge of IRATA International standards and rope access operations.
- Experience preparing quotations or supporting estimating activities.
- Understanding of RAMS, permits to work, and project documentation.
- IRATA certification (advantageous but not essential).

Package negotiable dependant on experience.
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
