The position requires a highly adaptable and emotionally intelligent individual capable of providing stability, discretion, and continuity of care within a dynamic and, at times, unpredictable environment. The right candidate will be warm, grounded, and highly dependable, with the ability to provide a calm and secure presence. Responsibilities will include:
Provide warm and consistent care, supporting the child’s emotional wellbeing through a period of significant change
Support structured early years education, with a focus on preparing for entry into the British curriculum (Key Stage 1)
Establish and maintain a calm, predictable routine to promote security and development
Accompany the family on international travel between the Bahamas and London, adapting seamlessly to changing schedules
Provide homeschooling support, if appropriate, during time spent in the Bahamas (anticipated minimum of approximately 90 days per year in the initial phase)
Act as a trusted and steady presence, fostering a secure and supportive environment
Work in close partnership with the parent, contributing insight and judgement to support decisions around the child’s emotional and educational needs
Maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and flexibility at all times
- Ideally light household management support to assist with overall organisation and smooth running of the home
- Creative and healthy cook, able to encourage a healthy relationship with food
