Join our dynamic Parks and Open Spaces team as a Country Park Warden for a 4-month contract. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of a popular Country Park, enhancing visitor experience through the management of attractions like the Pitch & Putt Course, Crazy Golf Course, and Splash Park. The position demands a proactive approach to maintaining a safe, welcoming environment and involves regular weekend and bank holiday work.
Pitch & Putt Operations-
Operate the kiosk, sell tickets, and process payments.

Issue golf equipment and sell refreshments.

Re-stock kiosks and provide visitor assistance.

Pitch & Putt & Crazy Golf Maintenance

Open and close facilities daily.

Maintain greens and course areas.

Operate mowers and manage vegetation.

Splash Park Operations
-
Conduct safety checks and monitor visitor numbers.

Enforce rules and maintain facilities.

Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Park Maintenance & Environmental Duties

Assist with litter picking, bin emptying, and vegetation management.

Support general grounds maintenance activities.

Inspections & Safety

Assist with safety inspections and report issues.

Ensure all facilities are safe for visitors.

Customer Service & Public Engagement

Provide excellent customer service and information.

Engage with customers, contractors, and event organisers.

Events & Community Support

Assist with park events and support external organisers.

Represent the Local Authority professionally.
Requirements:

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Ability to work independently and use initiative.

Experience handling cash and card transactions.

Basic numeracy skills and outdoor maintenance capability.

Fluent English and ability to travel within the borough.

Full UK Driving Licence and DBS Certificate.

Experience in parks, leisure, or environmental services.

Proficiency with ride-on or pedestrian mowers.

Customer-facing experience.

Based in Swindon, working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Regular public interaction with weekend and bank holiday work.
