About the Role
The Grove is looking for a confident, highly organised and personable Event Coordinator to oversee weddings, celebrations and private events on an event-by-event basis.
This is not a fixed-hours position. You will be required when we have events taking place and will be responsible for coordinating the event on the day, ensuring everything runs smoothly from the arrival of the client through to the end of the event.
You will act as the main point of contact on the day and oversee the venue team to ensure our clients and their guests receive an exceptional level of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee events from start to finish.
- Ensure the agreed order of events and timings are followed.
- Welcome and liaise with clients and their nominated family members or representatives.
- Coordinate the arrival and movement of guests throughout the venue.
- Brief and oversee waiting staff and other venue team members during the event.
- Allocate staff duties and ensure the team is positioned appropriately throughout the event.
- Liaise with the kitchen and catering team regarding food service timings.
- Coordinate entrances, speeches, cake cutting, entertainment and other key moments.
- Liaise with external suppliers including photographers, videographers, DJs, decorators and entertainers where required.
- Ensure the venue is presented to the required standard before guests arrive.
- Monitor service standards throughout the event.
- Deal calmly and professionally with any issues that arise during the event.
- Ensure client requests and venue procedures are followed.
- Oversee the conclusion of the event and ensure the venue is handed back appropriately.
About You

- Comfortable working in a busy wedding and events environment.
- Available to work evenings and weekends.
Previous experience in weddings, events, hospitality, restaurants, hotels or venue management would be highly desirable.
Working Pattern
This is an event-based casual role rather than a position with fixed weekly hours.
Work will be offered according to The Grove’s event calendar and may include weekdays, evenings and weekends.
The role would suit an experienced events or hospitality professional looking for flexible additional work alongside other commitments.
