Vehicle Recovery Technician
Location: Oakley
Hours: Full Time
Essential Requirements (Please read first)
- Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence
- Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph
- Ability to pass full police vetting
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Must live within our operating area
Desirable:
- Recovery and/or HIAB experience (training provided if not)
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in vehicle maintenance (commercial vehicles advantageous)

Bakers Recovery is a family-run business based in Oakley, operating a modern fleet of recovery vehicles with a team of over 20 staff. We provide a professional, reliable 24-hour vehicle recovery service.
We are proud to support Hampshire Police, National Highways, and leading motoring organisations, delivering high standards in often demanding and time-critical situations.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position involving roadside recovery, vehicle transport, and accident response. You’ll work closely with customers, emergency services, and partner organisations, often in high-pressure environments.
Full training is available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out safe roadside recovery and transportation of light vehicles
- Undertake heavy recovery operations, including complex incidents
- Respond to and manage accident recovery for vehicles of all sizes
- Operate specialist equipment including HIAB and Eastract systems
- Deliver a professional service in time-sensitive and customer-facing situations
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone reliable, proactive, and calm under pressure. You should be comfortable working independently, making decisions in real-time, and representing the business professionally.
If you meet the core requirements but don’t yet have full recovery experience, we’ll provide structured training and support to help you develop.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
