Vehicle Technician – £32,000–£38,000
Service & Repair – SK Mot Testing Centre Ltd
£32,000–£38,000 per year depending on experience Monday–Friday | 8:00am–6:00pm
We're looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our busy independent garage in Gravesend
This isn't a role where we're looking for someone to simply carry out servicing and basic repairs. We're looking for a technician who can diagnose problems, work independently and take pride in doing a proper job.
We're a busy, friendly and growing independent workshop with a strong local customer base and plenty of work coming through the door.
What we're looking for
We're particularly interested in experienced technicians who are confident carrying out:
- Vehicle diagnostics and fault finding
- Servicing and routine maintenance
- Timing belts
- Wet belt replacement
- Clutches and flywheels
- Suspension, brakes and steering
- MOT preparation and MOT failure repairs
- Electrical fault finding
- General mechanical repairs
- Using modern diagnostic equipment
You don't need to be a master technician who knows absolutely everything. We're looking for someone capable, reliable and confident working on vehicles without needing to be constantly supervised.
If you can diagnose a fault, work out what needs doing and get the job done properly, we'd like to hear from you.
What we can offer
£40,000–£46,000 basic salary, depending on your experience and ability.

We're an independent garage, so you'll be joining a small team rather than becoming another number in a large dealership.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone who:
- Has solid experience as a Vehicle Technician
- Can work independently
- Takes pride in their workmanship
- Is confident diagnosing faults
- Is able to tackle larger mechanical jobs
- Has good attention to detail
- Is reliable and takes responsibility for their work
- Has a full UK driving licence
- Works well as part of a small team
MOT Tester status would be a big advantage, although it isn't essential.

We're not interested in simply filling a space on a ramp.
