Role Overview
As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, managing staff performance, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring profitability while creating a positive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and food hygiene standards.
- Manage opening and closing procedures and cash handling processes.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate ordering to minimise waste and control costs.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, supervise, and develop restaurant staff.
- Create and manage staff rotas to meet business needs and labour budgets.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and support where required.
- Foster a positive, motivated, and professional team culture.
- Handle employee relations matters fairly and professionally.
Customer Service
- Ensure guests receive a welcoming and exceptional dining experience.
- Respond promptly and effectively to customer feedback and complaints.
- Build customer loyalty by maintaining high service standards.
- Monitor online reviews and identify opportunities for improvement.
Financial Management
- Monitor sales, labour costs, and operational expenses.
- Work towards achieving revenue and profitability targets.
- Analyse business performance and implement improvement strategies.
- Prepare reports and provide updates to senior management.
- Support local marketing initiatives and promotional activities.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with UK food safety, licensing, employment, and health & safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records relating to food safety and staff training.
- Ensure all team members follow company procedures and legal requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar hospitality management role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Good understanding of restaurant financial controls and budgeting.
- Knowledge of UK food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Personal Licence Holder qualification.
- Food Safety Level 3 certification.
- Experience managing high-volume restaurant operations.
Pay: Up to £34,000.00 per year
