JOB LOCATION: The Rabbit Hotel
HOURS OF WORK: 5 days out of 7 – to include evenings and weekends
SALARY: £31,350
About the role:
We are currently seeking to recruit an outgoing, articulate and sales-minded individual to join our successful and diverse organisation, as part of our wedding & events sales department. The successful applicant should have a passion for weddings, event planning and a keen eye for detail and be eager to learn and progress in this industry. Commitment and enthusiasm are essential, alongside experience in the weddings and events industry.
The Position:
Main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Dealing with wedding & event enquiries from initial call to handing over to the operations team on the day.
- Conducting show-rounds to prospective clients and up-selling all products on offer to maximise revenue.
- Confident in selling all aspects of the event & wedding experience at the hotel, quoting rates and making bespoke suggestions based on the clients needs.
- Working towards monthly and annual targets in respect to; converting weddings/ events from enquiries to confirmations, upselling targets and revenue targets.
- Responsible for handling a number of enquiries at different stages in the pipeline. Reporting on their status and continually working to convert in line with targets.
- Responsible for handling a portfolio of events over a number of future years. Managing appropriate and consistent contact with each of them to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Effectively using the appropriate systems to record and track all necessary administration regard to each wedding/ event and communicate with the relevant internal departments and external suppliers to ensure the smooth running of each event.
- Working to deadlines set by clients and management.
- Ensuring the correct billing of each event and the administration associated with it.
- Following the correct procedure for accepting and processing payments in line with company procedures.
- Demonstrating excellent customer service and communication skills to ensure customers receive first-class, professional service.
- Showing tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult situations.
- Be solution-focused both for the client and in how you handle situations within the department.
- Representing the hotel at wedding/ event trade shows as and when required.
- Under the guidance of the Wedding & Event Sales Managers & Wedding Team Leader, help develop and maintain a presence for weddings/ events across social channels. Making content suggestions, liaising with marketing and maintaining these channels where necessary.
- Showing a keen interest in the wedding/ events industry to enhance your role on a continual basis
- Attending any training course, that management may deem beneficial.
- Carrying out any reasonable request made by any member of the management team.
Essential Criteria:
- Have 2 year’s sales experience gained within a customer service environment.
- Have experience in working to KPI’s and a proven track record in converting leads into confirmed business.
- Have experience in developing and nurturing client relationships.
- Be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work independently with minimal supervision.
- Have highly developed administration skills and be meticulous in the preparation and delivery of relevant correspondence.
- Have an understanding of how important attention to detail is and have a detail-orientated approach to tasks.
- Be capable of multi-tasking, prioritising, and managing time efficiently.
- Be able to demonstrate excellent people skills exuding warmth and portraying a genuine desire to assist guests in planning their event.
- Have experience of working as part of a team and have the ability to work effectively with others.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in the co-ordination and management of weddings/ events.
- Hotel or Hospitality experience
