Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our vibrant care home team. This vital role involves providing high-quality, person-centered care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being are prioritized at all times. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will lead by example, supporting your colleagues and fostering a warm, respectful environment where residents feel valued and empowered. Your leadership and communication skills will be essential in delivering exceptional care that makes a real difference in people's lives.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans, promoting independence and dignity.
- Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure consistent, high standards of care.
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, always respecting their preferences and privacy.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including updating care plans and recording any changes in residents’ conditions.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to coordinate care and address needs promptly.
- Lead by example in adhering to health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and infection control procedures.
- Support the planning and implementation of activities that promote social engagement and mental well-being for residents.
Skills
- Proven experience working in a care home environment with a focus on senior care.
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare or social care setting.
- Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Valid driving license preferred for assisting with resident transport or outings.
- Competent in using IT systems for record keeping, reporting, and communication purposes.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and compliance with health & safety standards.
