You'll develop the skills to understand what our customers need, prepare accurate and competitive quotations, communicate their value and, importantly, learn how to follow up, overcome objections and get the quotation over the line to become an order.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Trainee Estimator / Quotations Administrator, you'll learn the business from the ground up, including:
- Preparing accurate and competitive quotations for customers
- Learning how to estimate products, materials and project requirements
- Developing your understanding of our technical products, customers and market
- Supporting the sales and commercial teams
- Speaking confidently with customers by telephone and email
- Building strong relationships and delivering the highest levels of customer service
- Following up quotations and understanding what it takes to convert an opportunity into an order
- Learning how to identify customer needs and present the right solution
- Developing your ability to handle questions, objections and commercial conversations
- Understanding how to win quotations and maximise sales opportunities
- Liaising with customers, suppliers and colleagues
- Using computer systems, spreadsheets and CRM/business systems to manage information
- Learning how a successful, growing business operates
- Taking on increasing responsibility as your knowledge and confidence develops

The successful candidate will have a natural desire to succeed.
You'll learn that preparing a quotation is only part of the process. The real skill is understanding why the customer should choose us, communicating that value, providing outstanding service and following the opportunity through until it becomes an order.
You don't need to know how to do this on day one — we will train you.
What we do need is someone who is enthusiastic about learning, isn't afraid to pick up the phone, enjoys speaking to people and wants to develop into a confident commercial professional.
Your Career Pathway

Starting salary: £26,000
Following successful completion of your 12-month training programme: £30,000
