Job Overview
We’re looking for a brilliant new person to join our small team at Penelopetom in Totnes on a permanent 32-hour contract.
Penelopetom is an independent lifestyle and gift store selling jewellery, accessories, gifts and homewares. This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with customers, takes pride in making a shop look fantastic and likes being part of a friendly, busy team.
The role
You’ll be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the store, including:
- Providing warm, friendly and helpful customer service
- Helping customers choose products and gifts
- Processing sales and operating the till
- Maintaining high standards of shop presentation
- Replenishing and merchandising stock
- Receiving and unpacking deliveries
- Gift wrapping and preparing customer purchases
- Helping with stock organisation and general store administration
- Supporting the team wherever needed during busy periods
About you
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Naturally friendly, confident and good with people
- Reliable, organised and able to use their initiative
- Enthusiastic and willing to get involved in all aspects of the store
- Detail-focused with an eye for presentation
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a small team
- Happy working in a busy retail environment
Previous retail or customer-facing experience would be an advantage, but we’re particularly interested in finding someone with the right attitude, energy and personality.
Hours: 32 hours per week, including Saturdays (Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays)
