Every great kitchen runs on the people who keep it moving, and this is one of them. We are looking for a hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team at The Randolph, one of Oxford's most iconic addresses, and become the beating heart of a busy, high quality kitchen.
White Rabbit Hospitality provides the food and beverage services at The Randolph, one of Oxford's most storied hotels. We are the team behind the kitchen, part of White Rabbit Projects, one of the UK's most exciting hospitality groups. From Rusacks St Andrews to Ember Locke in Kensington, we bring food, service, and energy that people travel for into landmark spaces. At The Randolph, we run the F&B, and this kitchen is going places.
This isn't a role where you go unnoticed. A great Kitchen Porter is the difference between a kitchen that struggles and a kitchen that flies, and we treat the role that way. You keep the section clean, the chefs stocked, and the pace up, and in return you become part of a team that has your back and a group that will help you grow if you want to build a career in kitchens.
At White Rabbit, our values are not a poster on the wall, they are how we work. Hospitality is at our core. We do the right thing. We pursue excellence. We are all entrepreneurs. And underpinning all of it, we work hard and we are kind.
HOSPITALITY IS AT OUR CORE - You keep the kitchen clean, safe, and moving so the team can look after every guest.
WE DO THE RIGHT THING - You take pride in hygiene, safety, and doing the job properly, even when no one is watching.
WE PURSUE EXCELLENCE - You hold the same high standard on a quiet shift as you do on a full house, every single time.
WE ARE ALL ENTREPRENEURS - You look for ways to help, spot what needs doing before you are asked, and treat the kitchen as your own.
- Washing and cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment throughout service
- Keeping the kitchen, wash up area, and storage spaces clean, tidy, and safe at all times
- Supporting the chefs by keeping sections stocked, clean, and ready to go
- Taking deliveries, storing stock correctly, and rotating goods to the right standards
- Managing waste and recycling responsibly and hygienically
- Following all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures
- Helping with basic prep tasks where needed, giving you a way into the craft if you want it
- Being a reliable, positive presence in a busy team
- A strong work ethic and the energy to keep going through a busy service
- A positive, reliable attitude and the willingness to muck in wherever you are needed
- The ability to work quickly, cleanly, and safely under pressure
- A team player who takes pride in a job well done
- Previous kitchen or cleaning experience is a bonus, but attitude matters most
- A basic understanding of hygiene and safety, or the willingness to learn
- Right to Work in the UK
- OTE hourly rate of £14.60 per hour
- The chance to work in a genuine Oxford landmark alongside an experienced, supportive kitchen team
- A real route in: many of our chefs started as porters, and we love to develop people who want to grow
- Development and progression opportunities across the wider White Rabbit Hospitality portfolio
- Team benefits, meals on duty, and the culture of a group that means it when it says work hard and be kind
This could be a job, or it could be the first step of a career. Plenty of brilliant chefs started exactly where you are, and if you want to learn the craft, we will give you the environment and the support to do it. Bring your energy and your work ethic, and we will do the rest.
If you are reliable, hardworking, and ready to be the backbone of a landmark kitchen, we want to hear from you.
