Job title: Group Financial Controller

About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Group Financial Controller position with oversight of group controllership functions as well as partnering leaders of national functions. This is a senior role in the organisation and sits on the Finance Leadership Team to drive the business to achieve its strategic objectives.

The Group Financial Controller will

Lead Group financial control, reporting, risk and governance, ensuring robust controls and complete confidence in financial performance.

Lead all statutory, tax and regulatory compliance activities, managing key relationships with HMRC, auditors, banks and advisors.

Own the group balance sheet, cash flow, liquidity, working capital and covenant management, driving strong financial discipline and performance.

Provide commercial leadership on key contracts, partnerships and loyalty programmes, ensuring maximum value creation.

Drive operational excellence across the Finance centre and Procurement, delivering efficient processes, strong controls and an outstanding service culture.

Champion finance transformation, leading systems, process improvements and continuous enhancement across the function.

Build and maintain a best-in-class risk and governance framework, protecting the business while enabling growth.

Develop, inspire and lead high-performing finance teams, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous development.
About you
-
Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 7+ years’ post-qualified experience in a senior finance leadership role.

Strong technical accounting expertise, with deep knowledge of FRS 102, statutory reporting and financial controls in a complex, multi-entity environment.

Proven track record of leading external audits, managing auditor relationships and delivering high standards of governance, compliance and reporting.

An accomplished people leader with experience building, developing and motivating high-performing finance teams.

Commercially minded and solutions-focused, able to translate financial insight into clear actions that drive business performance.

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic thinking with a hands-on approach when required.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the credibility to influence senior leaders, external partners and operational teams.

Experienced in working collaboratively across finance and operational functions to align financial plans with business activity and performance drivers.
