Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Window Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining upvc and aluminium windows and doors across various building sites mainly residential. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a broad range of construction skills within a dynamic environment. Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare window openings to ensure precise fitting according to project specifications
- Install new windows, ensuring they are secure, level, and properly sealed to prevent draughts and water ingress
- Remove old or damaged windows safely and efficiently before fitting new units
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment to carry out installations
- Follow schematics, technical drawings, and instructions accurately during installation processes
- Perform minor repairs or adjustments to existing window fittings as required
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency on site
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, carpentry, or masonry teams when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience in fitting windows and doors
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in window fitting and general construction tasks
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of current building regs for windows and doors
- Strong understanding of safety protocols relevant to construction sites
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively on multiple projects
- Physical fitness to handle lifting heavy windows and working at heights safely
- Previous experience working as window fitter and technical schematics is beneficial
