We have a great opportunity for a Yard Person/Semi-skilled Fitter to join our team. This is a manual labour-intensive role, so will include handling large and heavy items, and requires working outside in all weathers.
The Role:
- organisation of the yard, making sure all work is completed efficiently and to deadlines. Keeping the yard tidy, safe, and free from hazards
- Maintain the wash bay, storage areas, and traffic routes
- Move excavators, dumpers, rollers, forklifts, telehandlers, trailers and attachments around the yard
- Assist with loading and unloading lorries and customer vehicles
- Meet customers and transport drivers when they arrive on site and deal with delivery lines
- Deliver and collect equipment and parts to/from off-site location
- Clean machinery equipment using pressure washers and cleaning tools and valet new and used machines to a high standard
- PDI machines in accordance with Company procedures
- PDI and check over trailers/light railer maintenance
- Check over attachments pre/post hire and change saddles according to hire requirements
- Maintain a high level of health and safety as per company policies/procedures
- Supporting the team across all aspects of the business
The Person/Requirements:
· Full UK driving licence (essential)
· Confident in towing a trailer
· Experience in a similar role (desirable)
· A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
· Great organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task
· The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment
· Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with our customers
· Flexibility to work overtime when needed
· A team player
