We at Focus Housing are looking for a Maintenance Person who has a generic background in all fields of maintenance.
As the Maintenance Person you are responsible for ensuring the health and safety standards are met around our homes for our residents.
Daily duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for carrying out a wide range of routine building, maintenance and repair jobs, with minimum disruption to the care of the home
- Accountable for compliance with the Health and Safety At Work Act, service contract, COSHH and inspections.
The ideal candidate should have knowledge about and be able to;
- Working on Fire doors
- Meeting HMO regulatory standards in a property
- Changing & fitting new windows
- Basic repairs in a property.
- Plumbing/electrics/ and gardening would be an additional advantage.
- Being proficient in carrying out loan working and working with vulnerable individuals.
- Having to work out of hours work if agreed.
- Ability to deal with other contractors or maintenance workers
- Willingness to attend to maintenance issues if emergencies arise (based on the priority system)
- Be able to follow online excel document where works will be recorded and signed off
- Ability to work under pressure
- Be flexible and work closely with management to achieve objectives
- Ability to meet deadlines and work with a specified budget
- Able to work as part of a team with excellent communication skills
You will be travelling to the properties which are all around Birmingham area.
