Southport Salvation Army operates a busy charity shop and furniture store, which works to meet the needs of the local community and to raise funds for the work of the Salvation Army in the local area. We are looking to appoint an Assistant Charity Shop Manager to join our team, who will work with the Shop Manager to oversee the safe and effective management of the shop and to further the mission of The Salvation Army.
Key Responsibilities: Key responsibilities will include: ensuring the highest standards of customer care; managing the daily operation of the shop including stock management and shop appearance; managing the security and accounting of cash, including Gift Aid; health and safety compliance; overseeing the safe and timely collection and delivery of goods and the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

Previous experience in a retail environment and in managing volunteers and staff

Proven interpersonal skills

Good IT skills

An ability to work on their own initiative and in a team
