Overview
The Shop Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop, ensuring that all activities align with the charity's objectives and ethos.
This position requires a dynamic leader who can effectively manage staff and volunteers, enhance sales performance, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organisational and communication skills, enabling them to create a positive work environment while driving the success of the charity.
- Supervise and manage shop staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance.
- Lead by example in sales activities, actively engaging with customers to promote products and services.
- Implement effective time management strategies to ensure efficient shop operations.
- Maintain high standards of customer service through effective phone etiquette and interpersonal communication.
- Organise and ensure donations and stock levels are maintained and replenished as necessary.
- Oversee administrative tasks including scheduling, financial reporting, health and safety and compliance with charity policies.
- Foster a collaborative team environment
Skills
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising teams in a retail or shop environment.
- Strong sales management skills with a track record of achieving targets and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proven ability to recruit and manage a diverse team of volunteers.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with customers and team members alike.
- Ability to sell products effectively while understanding customer needs and preferences.
- Proficient in time management techniques to optimise productivity within the shop setting.
