Summary
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated Plant Area Manager to join our team.
As Plant Area Manager you will report to the owner and be accountable for the day to day running of the plant department ensuring high standards of plant care, exceptional customer service and an inspiring, well stocked plant area.
The role is full time and includes alternate weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Stock Management
- Seasonal planning and stock selection
- Monitor stock levels and place weekly orders
- Conduct regular stock counts and ensure that stock records and pricing are correct
- Check deliveries are accurate and of a high quality
Centre Standards and Presentation
- Ensure the plant department is always 'ready to trade'
- Create attractive and easy to shop displays and features
- Ensure products are priced correctly and labelled
- Monitor the standards of our stock and ensure that plants receive the correct care at all times
- Maintain a clean, tidy, well presented and safe plant area
Team Support and Management
- Supervise the team and allocate tasks daily
- Keep the team updated and involved with regular communication
- Support the team and provide training to ensure our standards are consistently met
- Oversee all plant care, including watering, feeding and pruning
- Ensure that work is completed efficiently and safely
- Build strong working relationships with the retail team
Customer Service
- Assist customers in choosing plants and with gardening ideas
- Respond to customer enquiries as they are received
- Promote seasonal products clearly
- Support the team to maintain our high standards of customer service
Health & Safety
- Ensure daily checks, audits and risk assessments are completed accurately
- Promote safe working practices at all times
About You
You will be an experienced plant manager or supervisor with strong leadership skills and proven ability to run a plant department. You should be approachable, friendly and enjoy working within retail.
