We are currently recruiting here at Tipsy Cow, Peterborough! This is an independent, locally owned venue, with a mix of some of the best drinks in the UK alongside games such as Interactive Darts and Shuffleboard. We offer an exciting range of activities for customers to enjoy, such as live singers, quiz nights, and open mic nights, as well as showing live sport.
We are seeking experienced and dynamic bar staff to help run the operations of our bustling bar. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a great team, all working towards the same vision. We really value creativity when it comes to cocktails and new menu ideas, and would love an extra team member to share this passion.
We are also looking to offer individuals who work for us more than a role in a bar. We also run an accountancy practice, so there will be opportunities to take on Marketing or Accounting training for the right individuals.
Duties
- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently and to a high standard
- Provide friendly, professional customer service at all times
- Operate the till and handle cash/card payments accurately
- Check identification in line with Challenge 25 and licensing laws
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including glassware, surfaces, and equipment
- Restock fridges, shelves, and bar supplies as required
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Support the team during busy service periods
- Monitor customer behaviour and report any issues to management
- Follow all health & safety and licensing regulations
- Set up and explain the rules of games for customers - including Shuffleboard and Interactive Darts
Experience
- Previous bar or hospitality experience preferred but not essential
- Confident serving alcoholic beverages and using bar equipment
- Basic knowledge of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails
- Barista skills (desirable but not essential)
- Comfortable operating a till and handling cash/card payments
- Friendly, chatty, approachable, and professional
- Able to work well under pressure in a busy environment
- Strong teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and well-presented
- Good communication skills
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
