We are seeking an experienced, organised, and proactive Logistics Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of our delivery operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating drivers, managing delivery schedules and routes, monitoring driver performance, ensuring client service levels are consistently met, and maintaining accurate operational records.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of delivery drivers across multiple client operations.
- Plan, assign, and optimise daily delivery routes to maximise efficiency and ensure on-time completion of deliveries.
- Monitor live delivery operations and respond promptly to delays, incidents, or route changes.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed in accordance with client service level agreements (SLAs) and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of driver mileage, routes completed, delivery performance, and operational activities.
- Track driver working hours and ensure compliance with Working Time Regulations and company policies.
- Prepare and verify driver payroll information, ensuring drivers are paid accurately based on completed routes and agreed payment structures.
- Monitor driver attendance, punctuality, productivity, and overall performance using operational reporting systems.
- Produce regular performance reports for management and identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency.
- Communicate daily with drivers, clients, and internal teams to resolve operational issues quickly and professionally.
- Investigate delivery exceptions, customer complaints, failed deliveries, and route discrepancies, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, health & safety requirements, and company procedures.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of delivery drivers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics, transport operations, fleet management, or driver management.
- Previous experience supervising or managing delivery drivers within a courier, parcel delivery, transport, or logistics environment.
- Strong understanding of route planning, driver scheduling, and transport operations.
- Experience monitoring driver KPIs, including on-time delivery performance, productivity, attendance, and compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics management software, transport management systems (TMS), or fleet management platforms.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data and produce accurate reports.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support drivers.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while making effective operational decisions.
- Knowledge of driver hours regulations and transport compliance is desirable.
- A valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
