Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Hatchery Operative specialising in transfer duties to join our team. This role involves the safe and efficient movement of poultry eggs and hatchlings within the hatchery environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining smooth hatchery operations, ensuring animal welfare, and supporting overall productivity. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting that values attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and physical resilience. All roles are paid positions, including internships, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and animal care.
Pay:
£13.25 per hour plus shift allowance of £0.26 per hour - Paid Weekly
Hours:
Monday-Saturday 08:00-18:00 on a 6 week rotation pattern
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the effective movement of eggs from storage to incubating machines and then to hatching machine.
- Moving 10kg trays of eggs into the egg trolleys.
- Checking if there is anything wrong with the eggs.
- Moving eggs from incubating machines to hatching machines effectively.
- Cleaning all equipment after use to the required high standards
- Safeguarding bio security and following these strict procedures
- Observing bird welfare and health and safety on site at all times
