Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and diligent Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver excellent service. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all kitchen areas are hygienic and well-stocked, contributing to the smooth running of our establishment. Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory, as full training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
- Washing, drying, and storing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently
- Maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision when required
- Ensuring waste disposal is handled correctly and recycling procedures are followed
- Restocking supplies and ingredients as needed to support kitchen operations
- Supporting the kitchen team during service periods to ensure timely delivery of food
- Adhering to all hygiene regulations and health & safety policies at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking techniques is a plus
- Familiarity with kitchen safety standards and hygiene practices
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends if required
