The Cut & Craft currently operates three premium and busy sites in York , Manchester and Leeds City Centre.
We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to assist leading our kitchen team and elevate our culinary offerings.
We are a fresh food kitchen, preparing all dishes freshly on site. Your leadership will inspire the kitchen team the maintain the highest standards of food quality and safety, while also promoting a positive and collaborative kitchen environment. You will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity and expertise, driving the restaurants vision.

Varied shifts including evening and weekends. Approx 45 hours per week.
Areas of Responsibility
Team Leadership
Line manages and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and culinary excellence.
Food Quality
Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and flavour, ensuring consistency in every dish served.
Inventory Management
Oversee inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and storing food supplies, ensuring minimal waste and optimal freshness. Process dry stock using Zonal.
Health & Safety Compliance
Ensure all kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
Cost Management
Monitor food cost percentages and labour costs, implementing strategies to maximise profitability without compromising quality.
Collaboration
Work closely with front-of-house management and staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests, including special requests and dietary restrictions.
Team Development
Recruit, train, develop and line manage a high-performing team of chefs.
Innovation and Menu Development
Stay current with culinary trends and techniques, continuously seeking to improve and innovate the restaurant’s offerings. You will also have the ability to contribute to designing the seasonal menu, incorporating fresh, local ingredients while ensuring variety and creativity.
The Ideal Candidate Qualifications and Experience
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role in a premium, fast paced restaurant setting.
Professional training in a fresh food concept
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen management.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
Passion for fresh, quality ingredients.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Creativity and a keen sense of taste and presentation.
A passion for providing exceptional hospitality and a genuine commitment to ensuring that every guest has a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
