Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Holiday Club Assistant to join our team during school holidays. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging children in a variety of fun and educational activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing throughout the day. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about childcare, teaching, or working with children. Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in French is a desirable bonus.
Responsibilities
- Organise and supervise engaging activities suitable for children of various ages during holiday periods.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children attending the club at all times.
- Support children with their needs, providing guidance and encouragement throughout the day.
- Assist with setting up activities, ensuring all equipment and materials are safe and appropriate.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment where children feel comfortable and happy.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's participation and behaviour when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organised activity area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Support with light administrative tasks such as attendance records or activity planning as required.
Skills
- Experience in childcare, nannying, teaching, or working with children is highly desirable.
- Driving licence preferred to facilitate transportation or activity outings.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of French is advantageous.
- Friendly, approachable manner with a genuine passion for working with children.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different situations and provide creative solutions when needed.
- Reliable team player capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
