We are seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Support Workers to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism.
Working across our community-based services and Supported Living Service, you will provide person-centred support that promotes independence, choice, dignity, and wellbeing. You will empower individuals to develop daily living skills, access their local community, achieve personal goals, and live fulfilling lives.
This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting others and helping people achieve greater independence while building valuable skills and experience within the social care sector.
We are recruiting for either one full-time position or two part-time positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support to adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism in their homes and within the community.
- Support individuals to develop and maintain independent living skills, including cooking, budgeting, household tasks, and personal organisation.
- Encourage participation in social, recreational, educational, and community-based activities.
- Promote choice, independence, dignity, and inclusion at all times.
- Provide emotional support and build positive, trusting relationships with the people you support.
- Assist with personal care where required, ensuring privacy, dignity, and respect are maintained.
- Support individuals to attend appointments, access services, and achieve their personal goals.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of care and support.
- Maintain accurate records, daily notes, and incident reports in accordance with organisational policies.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to creating a safe, supportive environment.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience supporting adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, mental health needs, or other support needs, either professionally or through relevant voluntary work.
- A genuine passion for helping people live independently and achieve positive outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring, and respectful approach to supporting others.
- The ability to remain calm, flexible, and proactive in a variety of situations.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Experience working within Supported Living Services.
- A full UK driving licence.
