As Design Manager, you play a key role in the day-to-day management and coordination of projects across the Discovery Land Company portfolio. You ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions through close collaboration with project stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and the wider development team. The role requires maintaining exceptional standards throughout project delivery while supporting prospective property owners in achieving their aspirations, navigating planning requirements, and building regulations.
Overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from concept through to completion, you will ensure that design integrity, quality standards and client expectations are consistently achieved. This role requires a strong background in design management, excellent stakeholder coordination skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional results. As Design Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead prestigious projects, collaborate with world-class designers and architects, and make a significant impact within a dynamic and creative environment.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Design Manager with strong technical and project coordination skills, capable of managing multiple projects from concept to completion. You will be confident leading multidisciplinary teams, reviewing technical information, and ensuring projects are delivered to programme, quality, and compliance standards.
You will manage design across the DLC portfolio, including Taymouth Castle, Kenmore Village, Glenlyon, and other local properties, ensuring timely decision-making and the delivery of design solutions in line with project programmes.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is highly desirable, enabling you to support the preparation, coordination and review of drawings and technical documentation, while contributing to the efficient delivery of projects across the portfolio.
You consult with key stakeholders and prospective homeowners, providing guidance on design, planning, and building regulations requirements. Working with the DLC development team, you will develop design briefs and vision plans for project feasibility, while supporting the selection of consultants and contractors and ensuring design scopes, responsibilities, and project requirements are clearly defined.
You will review design team scopes of services to ensure responsibilities are clearly defined, manage design budgets in coordination with the project team and conduct design reviews to confirm compliance with the brief, design guidelines, and operational requirements. You will also present stage reviews to stakeholders and property owners, lead buildability, and design completeness reviews ahead of tender and facilitate design workshops during development, providing practical design solutions in collaboration with project, operations, and design teams.
Flexibility is required with a project of this nature; other duties may be required to ensure all work is completed and compliant with the high standards associated with our club and facilities. You will have experience leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams, managing high-value projects, and working within luxury hospitality, residential, and heritage environments.
